Free insurance health checks for AMSRS members31st Jan 17
AMSRS’s endorsed insurance provider, Arthur J. Gallagher (AJG), is offering free insurance health checks to members in a bid to make sure they are properly covered in 2017.
With underinsurance rife across Australian businesses of all sizes, and a society becoming ever more litigious, AMSRS members are urged to thoroughly review their insurance program to make sure their livelihoods and reputations are safeguarded.
“Underinsurance occurs when a business insures its assets for a sum that’s too low to fully rebuild or replace in the event of a loss,” explained John Apter of AJG’s Professional Associations team.
“As many as 80% of small business in Australia are thought to be underinsured, and the financial consequences can be enormous, requiring business owners to dip into their own savings to make up any shortfalls.
“Similarly, if a market researcher errs in providing professional advice, they open themselves up to the possibility of litigation. The risk isn’t severe in this sector, but it should not be overlooked – especially as Australia is thought to be the second most litigious country in the world behind the United States. That’s where having the right level of professional indemnity insurance is crucial.”
