CEO UPDATE: Board Office bearers elected; New Regulations available; New tools for 20252:2019 for members; PD and Conference dates for the diary

Dear Members,

It is my pleasure to provide you with an update from the first Board meeting in 2019 which occurred on Tuesday 12th  March.
 

Office bearers elected       

Following an online ballot of the AMSRS membership at the end of 2018, Con Menictas and Lyndall Spooner joined the AMSRS Board as Directors, and Vicki Arbes was returned for a second term. They join continuing directors Tiina Raikko, Sue Bell, Peter Harris and Gail Thomson.

The Board had a full day meeting on Tuesday 12th  March and elected the following office bearers:

  • President: Dr Vicki Arbes
  • Vice President: Tiina Raikko
  • Treasurer: Gail Thomson
  • Company Secretary: Elissa Molloy

The Board will be meeting again in April for a strategic planning meeting to develop the next three year plan for the Society.
 

Updated Regulations

At their meeting on the 12th March, the Board approved new Regulations for the membership.

New ISO standard for 20252:2019

As reported on in ResearchNewsLive, there is a new version of the ISO 20252 standard that was adopted as the Australian standard in March 2019.

The AMSRS has developed a suite of tools for companies wishing to be certified to the new standard AS  ISO 20252: 2019. We are making these tools free for all members that are currently certified to the existing ISO 20252 standard and to all our company and client partners. Any other members can purchase the tools at $250.00 or non-members can purchase them for $750.00. Please contact me if you are interested in receiving them.

We are holding a webinar tomorrow Tuesday, March 19th at 12.30pm with Norine Cruse who will run through the changes that in the new version of the ISO 20252:2019 standard. To register click here

Conference 2019 – Date for the Diary

The AMSRS is proud to be hosting the 2019 APRC Research Conference as part of our National Conference this year. It is a not to be missed event on 7th - 9th  August 2019 with chair Rebecca Huntley and our Conference Committee lining up an incredible array of local and global speakers. There will be lots of networking and workshop opportunities and sessions to meet with our colleagues and friends across the Asia Pacific region. Make sure you have it in your diary so you can join us at our major industry event.
