Qualified Practising Market Researcher (QPMR) accreditation is a scheme that demonstrates an industry wide commitment to continuous professional development and raises the professional standards of market and social research. The QPMR program was designed with a number of long term objectives in mind. They are to: - Define the marketing and social research profession by achieving a balance between experience and conceptual competence and establish an industry recognised imprimatur
- Ensure that the market and social research profession continues to advance with expansion of knowledge and information
- Protect the image of the industry by ensuring that only experienced and qualified practitioners are recognised as "market and/or social researchers"
- Demonstrate that market and social researchers have, and are committed to maintaining, high professional standards over time
- Provide assurance to research buyers that those with QPMR can provide quality advice across all aspects of market and social research
- Professionalise the market and social research industry.
QPMR is administered by the Australian Market and Social Research Society. A full list of QPMR Accredited Practitioners can be found here. QPMR is only available to members of the AMSRS who are market and social researchers with 10 years experience in the industry, or 5 year experience and a relevant university degree, with at least two years of those years practising in Australia in both cases. QPMR accreditation in renewed annually and requires members to submit a Professional Development Diary outlining their profession development activities over the previous year. All accredited QPMR members are required to submit a diary to maintain accreditation.
